The CLIENT:
Fairleigh Dickinson University New Jersey – Rothman Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship has helped academic, nonprofit and business communities heavily over the years. It cultivates and celebrates family business, small business, and entrepreneurship. Effectively making them the top 20 in the nation. They are known for the New Jersey Family Business of the Year Awards.
Our ROLE:
Cinematrocity is a creative marketing agency based out of central New Jersey. We serve clients and handle all marketing needs, from website development to content creation, specializing in video production.
In this case we helped not only with a creative video that celebrates family business, but also the majority of the virtual event. Live stream New Jersey for your in-person events.

The PROBLEM:
Fairleigh Dickinson University New Jersey – Rothman Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship hosts the prestigious New Jersey Family Business of the Year Awards every year.
However, when COVID-19 struck, all of the planning for the event had to pivot. This forced Fairleigh Dickinson University New Jersey and the Rothman Institute to a virtual event solution. Now the problem was re-creating the prestigious look and feel of the in-person event, to the virtual world. After the virtual event, begins a live stream New Jersey for the VIP event.
The SOLUTION:
Equipped with three cups of problem-solving skills and a tablespoon of creativity, Cinematrocity began to collaborate with the Rothman Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship to solve their problem.
The first was to create a compelling short video that would effectively work as an evergreen celebration of family businesses. This video would be made up of the nominees for Fairleigh Dickinson’s prestigious New Jersey Family Business of the Year Awards. Each nominee was interviewed for approximately an hour to talk about their family business and their history.
The 8+ hours of interviews was to be compiled into a 3-4 minute video. As you could guess, this part required: not 3, not 4, but 5 cups of coffee.
The honoree video was baked in the oven to perfection, it was time to put it all together in the virtual event. Our effort was to make running the virtual event as simple as clicking the play button. To do this, we compiled all the pre-recorded speeches, introductions, keynotes, sponsor, and honoree videos into one piece. Making the majority of the event very simple for the Rothman Institute, just the live stream New Jersey was left!
The RESULT:
The results are what matters right? In this case, the results are impressive. The virtual event ran completely smoothly (just one click of a button).
The prestigious New Jersey Family Business of the Year Awards was not compromised by being a virtual event. In fact, it flourished, it connected many small and family businesses together in a time of distress. This positioned Fairleigh Dickinson New Jersey and the Rothman Institute as a trusted and reputable source for the community.
The cherry on top is the evergreen family business video that will live on to inspire and celebrate New Jersey family businesses among the community.
Now… That was a delicious cake!
